Business Card Holder is designed with privacy as a core principle. We believe your contact information and business relationships are personal, and we've built our app to ensure your data stays private and under your control.
Data Collection
We do not collect any personal data. Business Card Holder processes all information entirely on your device. Specifically:
- Business card images are processed locally using Apple's Vision framework
- Text recognition (OCR) happens on-device without sending data to external servers
- Contact information is stored locally on your device
- No analytics or tracking tools are used
- No advertising networks are integrated
Data Storage
All data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. If you enable iCloud sync:
- Your data syncs through your personal iCloud account
- We have no access to your iCloud data
- Sync is handled entirely by Apple's infrastructure
- You can disable iCloud sync at any time in Settings
Permissions
Business Card Holder requests the following permissions:
Camera
Required to scan business cards. Images are processed on-device and never uploaded anywhere.
Contacts (Optional)
Only requested if you choose to export a card to your iOS Contacts. We only write contacts you explicitly choose to export.
Third-Party Services
Business Card Holder does not use any third-party services, SDKs, or APIs. All functionality is built using Apple's native frameworks. We do not share your data with anyone.
Data Deletion
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control over it. You can delete individual cards within the app, or delete all data by uninstalling the app. If you use iCloud sync, you may also need to delete data from iCloud settings.
Children's Privacy
Business Card Holder is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
